Description

Sebastien Loeb has dominated the World Rally Championship for the past seven years, but in 2011 he faced one of his greatest battles to retain the top spot. With two rounds of the championship to run, the French legend was locked in a spectacular three-way title battle with Ford rival Mikko Hirvonen and Citroen teammate Sebastien Ogier. The season had started with Loeb and Ogier trading blows, until the seven-times World Champion started to pull away. That all turned on its head in France, when a retirement for Loeb, victory for Ogier and a fortunate podium for Finland s Hirvonen left the trio spilt by just three points, and everything to play for. Once again, our Official Review of the WRC season will bring you comprehensive, action-packed coverage from every round, with plenty of in-car footage, interviews and special features to take you right inside the story of one of the most nail-biting Championship chases of recent years. It is drama and action all the way as we discover whether the all-conquering Loeb has finally met his match. The amazing championship battle isn t the only excitement watch out for MINI, with driver s Dani Sordo and Chris Meeke, becoming a genuine contender for victory and the heroics of Petter Solberg against the major teams. The Official Review is your complete guide to one of the greatest WRC seasons yet.

I was very pleased with the sellers service and the condition of the product. The FIA Rally Championship is always exciting and this video has great footage and an exciting story. My only complaint lies more with Duke Video since they did not include the 1996 Corsica - Tour de Corse where the Diac Renault Megane Maxi at the hand of Philippe Bugalski and Jean-Paul Chiaroni won overall, the first time for a Formula 2 car to win a WRC championship event. I have sent an inquiry to Duke Video. The video starts with the Swedish Rally and as such suggests that the Monte-Carlo was not the start to the season. The video doesn't include a Welsh-Rally GB...it seems odd not to have these events appear as part of the 1996 championship. I am researching why this is. It feels odd to have these events missing. The video is 90 minutes as opposed to the 120 minutes typically associated with WRC review videos. Perhaps these three events weren't part of the WRC but I have followed the WRC since 1983 and it seems very odd that three key events are missing from the championship. RACECAR Engineering specifically calls out the Tour de Corse as being a controversial race since Formula 2 is not supposed to beat Group A, AWD, Turbo Factory teams. There is some information that suggests that the Tour de Corse only counted toward the FIA 2-litre WRC for Manufacturers. If so, it is a sad day not to see them include it as part of the official review. Thus my inquiry to Duke Video. Again, this is not a problem with the seller nor is the situation their responsibility. Rather an issue at the production level. After all, I bought the video with the hope of seeing the Tour de Corse specifically. Nonetheless, the 1996 year was eventful and the video coverage is second to none. If you buy it with this in mind I think you will be more than pleased with this WRC video.
