Description

SRAM G2 Guide/Trail Disc Brake Pads Blended compound brakes for superior stopping power. SRAM G2 Brake Pads are exactly what your calipers have been asking for. Designed with different materials for the perfect ride and stopping power under speeds. Reduced grams make for an easier ride uphill. Available in sintered, organic/steel, and organic/aluminum. See below for compound comparisons. Kit Components: Each pad kit includes two brake pads, a pad spreader spring, pad pin and clip. Product comes with brake pads per one caliper so you will need to get two kits. Proper Care Instructions: Once a compound is used with a rotor, only that compound should be paired with that compound in the future. Brake pads must be replaced if the total thickness of the backing plate and pad friction material is less than 3 mm. The rotor must be replaced if the total thickness is less than 1.55 mm, or when changing pad friction material. SRAM Blended Compound Bike Brake Pads Pictured is our full line of G2 Guide brake pads. Each design features a steel-backed organic pad for powerful braking. We encourage you to try both compounds to determine what works best for your riding style. Click on the individual brake pads to learn more about their materials. Organic/Aluminum Bike Brake Pads Known to be quieter than a metal pad, and have more initial grab.Absorbs and disperses heat better than steel. This is a benefit for those that ride heavy on their brakes.Metal compound is best for riding in dry areas.Shorter wear than metallic-based compound pads.Identified by an "O" printed on the back of brake pad. Organic/Steel Bike Brake Pads Known to be quieter than a metal pad, and have more initial grab.Built from an organic and steel compound.Metal compound is best for riding in dry areas.Identified by an "O" printed on the back of brake pad. Sintered Steel Bike Brake Pads Best compound for riding in wet weather, i.e. on muddy paths or water crossings.Tends to wear out slower than organic compound pads, depending on riding conditions. If you're not sure which brake pads are right for you, sintered pads suit the widest array of riding styles and riding conditions.Metallic-based compounds offer more power, more bite, and longer wear.Identified by an "M" printed on the back of brake pad and copper backing plate. SRAM Blended Compound Pads Organic/Aluminum Organic/Steel Sintered Steel Bike Brake Pad Replacement Instructions Brake Pad Thickness Check To determine if you need to replace your brake pads, first check their thickness. If they measure less than 3mm, it's time to replace them.Perform this step monthly to prevent damage to rotor. Piston Reset Remove wheels from bike, and use a pad spacer to push pistons back into the caliper. This resets the pistons to provide space for the new, thicker pads. Brake Caliper Inspection Remove circlip with needle nose pliers and the pin with a 2.5mm hex wrench.Remove pads from caliper.Clean caliper using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free towel. New Bike Pad Replacement Make super the pad spreader spring is properly installed. Install pads into caliper. Install pin through caliper, pads, and spreader. Install circlip. Install pad spacer to ensure pistons are still pushed into caliper.Pull brake lever until contact point feels firm, and reinstall wheel. ABOUT SRAM RELENTLESS To be the best. It’s why you ride. Ours is a relentless pursuit: to make the climb shorter, the trail smoother, the turn tighter, the descent faster. To give you the strongest, lightest, quickest bike on earth. To be the best. A HISTORY OF INNOVATION SRAM was founded on a single product in 1987 and introduced the Grip Shift (or twist shift) shifter to the road bike market in 1988. In 1991 that technology was adapted for mountain bikes, and SRAM quickly grew. SRAM FUNDAMENTALLY BELIEVES THAT: Bicycles improve the environment.Bicycles ease traffic congestion.Bicycles reduce the cost of transportation.Bicycles improve health and reduce obesity. Cyclists are a passionate user group that support and enhance the areas in which they ride. SRAM’s products promote sustainability – they empower people to transport themselves and their families at low cost, to stay healthy, and to reduce pollution and improve community by reducing the use of fossil fuel-powered vehicles. SRAM is proud to deliver quality, exciting, sustainable products to its customers, but our obligation to social responsibility does not start and end with our products. We are also committed to improving our business practices to increase our positive impact on our employees, the people in our communities and those far away, and our planet itself. I’ve bee running SRAM brakes for years and have never had a reason to try some of the other brands available. Why not? SRAM’s pads just flat out work, and as a side benefit, they have a wonderfully long lifespan, making them cost effective.
